We explore spin dynamics in chalcogenide materials such as transition metal dichalcogenides (TMD) and topological insulators (TI) to develop novel spintronic applications. TIs have inherent band properties of momentum-spin locking, and 2D TMDs are expected to have long spin lifetimes arising from large spin-orbit-induced spin splitting.
